Mancini says the level of the Spanish national team is above Italy
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Italy coach, Roberto Mancini, acknowledged the greatness of the Spanish national team who will be his opponent in the UEFA Nations League semifinals. According to him, Spain has built the strength of their team much longer than Italy.
Italy will face Spain in the 2021 UEFA Nations League semifinals, at the San Siro Stadium, Thursday (7/5). The two teams would met each other again after the 2020 European Cup semifinals. At that time, Italy took the lead through a penalty shootout.
Mancini is aware, the quality of Spain is better than his team. La Furia Roja is reinforced by a number of young players with great potential. In addition, there were several senior retainers who were rich with experience.
“Spain are a strong team with good players. They played well. They were good at dribbling, whereas we didn’t have time to reach their level. However, this time it will be different,” Mancini told UEFA’s website.
Mancini did not deny that the status of European champions that was carried by Italy has made him look at the match differently. The former Manchester City coach is increasingly confident of bringing the Gli Azzurri back to winning trophies.
“Every game is full of difficulties. When we play against a weak team, it will be challenging because they will defend,” explained Mancini.
“However, there is no one way to win. It’s not just about playing well. Of course, if we manage to win with a good game and provide entertainment, that will be even better.”
“Italy’s perception has changed. However, we cannot forget that Italy has won four World Cups. We are European champions and have an important history,” said Roberto Mancini.
In the other semifinal, the Belgian national team will face France. The final match will be held on Monday (11/10) am, WIB.
