Mauro Icardi doesn’t Hold a Grudge against Inter Milan and Wishes Success to Lukaku

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  After being expelled from Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) striker, Mauro Icardi, claimed he did not feel resentful and still hoped for the best for Inter Milan and Romelu Lukaku, his successor at the club.

Icardi, 26, was loaned by Inter to PSG with a purchase option of 70 million euros. The Nerazzurri no longer consider him part of the team and Antonio Conte did not include him in the play plan. As a result, Icardi left the club he had defended since 2013.

His successor, Lukaku, has performed well so far with three goals in four Serie A matches. The former Manchester United striker adapted quickly to Conte’s playing philosophy. Icardi also hoped he would be successful at Inter.

“I don’t think Lukaku has a problem at all (adapting at Inter). Yes, I think he started the season well, scoring a few goals quickly,” Icardi told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Then he was injured like me and maybe this is what brought the usual criticism, but it’s not easy for anyone to play in Italy. He adapted and scored so many goals.”

Icardi also promised to give everything to Thomas Tuchel’s PSG if in the Champions League when he meets Inter. However, Wanda Nara’s husband did it only because he was professional, not because of revenge motives.

“I did not expect so much support from fans. They welcomed me since I warmed up at the Parc des Princes. Then, I had the good fortune to play directly against Real Madrid before injury,” added Icardi.

“I’m fine now, I have to start over, even if I have to work because I’m having a complicated summer and I’m not 100 percent when I arrived in Paris.”

“If PSG faces Inter, I will play it the best way. If everything depends on me, I will play professionally and give my best to protect my new jersey,” he stated.

With Conte, Icardi believes Inter can win the last Scudetto won nine years ago or in 2010, the year of the historic treble winners of La Beneamata.

“I’m at PSG this season and my goal is to give my best. Then, at the end of the season, maybe around May or June, we’ll see what happens. It’s too soon to say anything,” Icardi added.

“I just hope the best for Inter in every competition. I still have many friends in Milan. Together with Conte, this could be a good season to win the Scudetto,” he explained.
