Michael Oliver is Not a ‘Friendly’ Referee for Chelsea

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Chelsea and Liverpool will clash with each other in Week six of the Premier League on Sunday (9/22) night Western Indonesian Time. Both are ambitious to win after accepting defeat in the Champions League.

The match at Stamford Bridge will be led by referee Michael Oliver. For the host side, this is not pleasant news.

The appointment of Oliver as a court judge immediately presents bad memories for Frank Lampard’s troops. Yes, for Chelsea supporters, Oliver is bad news.

The latest example is what happened at the last meeting against Liverpool in the Premier League. Oliver was the referee when Liverpool beat Chelsea 2-0 at Anfield Stadium with goals from Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane in the second half.

Chelsea’s public concern over the appointment of Oliver did not just appear. Looking at the statistics, Liverpool has a slick record in the match led by Oliver.

In the last 10 matches officiated by Oliver, Liverpool has never felt defeat. Of the 10 matches included against Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Tottenham Hotspur.

How was the Chelsea report card in the match led by Oliver? Last season the 34-year-old referee served in five Chelsea games, four in the Premier League and once in the League Cup. In three matches that took place at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea recorded two wins and one draw.

In total, since serving in 2012, Oliver has led 34 Chelsea matches in all competitions. From these matches, Chelsea recorded 18 wins and seven defeats.
