Milan Officially Play in Europa League

DBasia.news – Good news for AC Milan supporter. They don’t need to worry seeing the absence of their beloved team in interclub Europe tournament this season due to EUFA punishment related to Financial Fair Play regulation.

Moreover, from the news reported by Football-Italia (20/7), Milan’s suit was accepted by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to cancel the punishment from UEFA, who bans Milan to play for two years in Europe tournaments, like Europe League or Champions League.

“The CAS panel rejected AC Milan’s request to order UEFA to enter into a settlement agreement but acknowledged that the decision of the adjudicatory chamber of the UEFA Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) to exclude AC Milan from the UEFA club competition was not proportionate,” said CAS statement.

Other factors contributing to CAS decision is the shift of ownership from Li Yonghong, a Chinese businessman, to Elliott Management, who believed won’t sell Milan stock until the next three years.

“The Panel considered that some important elements have not been properly assessed by the adjudicatory chamber, or could not be properly assessed at the moment when the appealed decision was rendered, and noted in particular that the current financial situation of the club was now better, following the recent change in the club’s ownership,” the statement added.

By this confirmation, AC Milan should focus and ready to face the 2018/2019 season. Gennaro Gattuso team will do the pre-season tour in the US and join the International Champions Cup.
