Milan One Step Closer to Get Uruguay National Team Player

Diego Laxalt

DBasia.news – AC Milan are one step closer to Geona player, Diego Laxalt. Sport Italia and Sky Sport released the agreement will be completed by today.

The negotiation went fast after Laxalt canceled to join Zenit St Petersburg. Milan entered the negotiation amid this condition.

Italian media reported both clubs agreed to the transfer worth 14 million euro and 4 million euro bonus. But, Milan could spend less money because Genoa still have 11 million euro debt for buying Gianluca Lapadula.

Milan’s intention to get Laxald at the end of 2018 transfer market was triggered by the injury of Ivan Strinic. In fact, the former Sampdoria player just joined this season.

Inter Milan would be Diego Laxalt’s way to have a career in Europe. Previously, the player played for one of Uruguay clubs, Defensor.

However, Laxalt failed to compete with Inter players at that time. Consequently, La Beneamata chose to loan him to some clubs like Bologna and Empoli.

Laxalt’s performance stole the spotlight after he scored 4 goals and 3 assists in 34 matches last season. Moreover, the 25-year-old player also became part of Uruguay national team in the 2018 World Cup.
