DBasia.news – Croatia national team captain, Luka Modric, admitted that he isn’t really obsessed to win the personal titles. Modric assumed the collective achievement of the team is more precious.

Luka Modric performed impressively throughout 2018. He won the Champions League with Real Madrid and led the Croatia national team to the final round of 2018 World Cup.

The achievement made Luka Modric called as the nominee of FIFA World Player of the Year. Moreover, Modric won the 2017-2018 Champions League Men’s Player of the Year Award in 2017-2018.

Luka Modric comes together with Cristiano Ronaldo and Mohamed Salah in the award. They also become the nominee in the same category of 2018 FIFA World Player of the Year.

Moreover, Luka Modric becomes the favorite to win the award. Apparently, Cristiano Ronaldo and Mohamed Salah didn’t perform impressively when supporting their own national team.

This made Luka Modric honored. However, the 33-year-old midfielder doesn’t really care about the result.

“For me, the important thing is the collective,” Luka Modric said after Croatia national team got defeated 0-6 against Spain in the UEFA Nations League.

“Winning the prize is not what obsesses me the most. If I do not win it, nothing happens,” Luka Modric continued.

As the finalist of 2018 World Cup, Croatia national team could do nothing playing against Spain. Luka Modric and friends had to swallow the biggest loss of all time.
