Mourinho: Tottenham Has a Good Academy
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Tottenham Hotspur’s new manager, Jose Mourinho, considers The Lilywhites to have an exceptional academy unlike his two former clubs, Chelsea and Manchester United.
“I really like this squad and the young players. “There is no manager in the world who doesn’t like to play with young players and help young players to develop,” Mourinho said on the official Tottenham website.
“The problem is sometimes you get into a club where academy work isn’t good enough to produce players, so I look at Tottenham’s history and you see that academies always provide the talent the first team needs. “Of course I hope to work with that profile,” Mourinho stated.
Mourinho has replaced Mauricio Pochettino’s role, who has been considered a failure this season after the Lilywhites slumped to 14th place in the Premier League.
Before joining Tottenham, Mourinho was always considered unable to develop young players in previous clubs such as Chelsea and MU. However, according to the coach, it happened because the academy at the clubs did not work well.
This is different from Tottenham who is diligent in producing gold talents such as Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Harry Winks.
“Playing against Tottenham at White Hart
Lane is always challenging, but beautiful. It was one of the places where I
went with enthusiasm, but also with respect. I always talk about the club’s
potential. I always talk about the quality of the players. I always talk about
the extraordinary work this club does, ” he added.
