DBasia.news – Tottenham Hotspur released a statement after a Norwich player tested positive for COVID-19 after playing a friendly match against Jose Mourinho’s team which took place on Friday (12/06) local time.

Tottenham tried to ward off fears they might face related to the corona virus crisis in the club after a Norwich City player was positive for the Corona virus. Previously the Spurs hosted The Canaries in a friendly match at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last Friday, where the visitors won 2-1.

However, it was later revealed that a Norwich player involved in the match was positive for COVID-19. The Premier League usually runs a series of four-day tests a week, namely on Monday and Tuesday then again on Thursday and Friday, the results were announced on Wednesday and Saturday.

After a series of tests, two people from two clubs were tested positive for the corona virus and Norwich confirmed that one of them was their player. Tottenham was also swift to contain fans’ concerns regarding the possibility of the virus spreading in the headquarters of their favorite team as they played a friendly last Friday. The club immediately released a statement via the official website.

“We continue to operate by complying with all the strict guidelines set by the Premier League to ensure we avoid spreading infections if there are those tested to be positive, including implementing social restrictions so that no ‘close contact’ is created, such as the government’s recommendation to maintain a distance of up to two meters for confirmed cases for 15 minutes or more. “

“This means that no member of the squad or staff is forced to carry out isolation independently other than the people who are tested positive and their family members.”

“The infected Norwich player has been confirmed not to have made ‘close contact’ with our team yesterday and our squad has verified that.”

“Our team has tested negative for covid since one of our players tested positive for nearly two weeks ago.”
