Often Defeated, Rio Ferdinand Reveals Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Deficiencies

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand found it difficult to accept the fact that his former team was defeated by Istanbul Basaksehir 2-1 in the Champions League group stage. According to him, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was responsible for the defeat.

Anthony Martial’s goal in the 43rd minute was not enough to bring Manchester United to achieve a point. The hosts scored twice through Demba Ba (12 ‘) and Edin Visca (40’).

According to Rio Ferdinand, Manchester United appeared less enthusiastic. This happened because there was no one to stirred the fire of enthusiasm in the locker room. Solskjaer who was supposed to do this lacked the personality that one might expect.

“I beg someone in the locker room to drag them or ask a question: Is this real? Do you know what happened? Where is your responsibility?” said Ferdinand as reported by BT Sport.

“Did anyone stand up and say: Actually it was my fault, pointing fingers and screaming.”

Ferdinand, who once shared the locker room with Solskjaer, said the manager, was not a player who often spoke out.

“Not his personality as a player. He is very quiet. However, he interrupted with comments when necessary,” he stated.

“I just hope he is very excited in the locker room because the players need him. The way they are currently performing is inconsistent. Besides, the way they make room for opposing players, there is no intensity.”

“You can’t do that at a big club,” stressed the legend.

Despite losing, Manchester United are still at the top of the standings with six points. However, the Red Devils are only three points ahead of Basaksehir who are at the bottom of the standings.
