Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made Manchester United set the Worst Record in 31 Years
By db-admin
DBasia.news – A 2-2 draw against Aston Villa at Old Trafford, Sunday (1/12) PM became the sixth draw won by Manchester United. This result is the beginning of the worst record experienced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team in the last 31 years.
On the 14th matchday of the English Premier League, United conceded a goal in the 11th minute with a curling strike from Jack Grealish from the left sector, and were only able to equalize through a header from Marcus Rashford who was considered Tom Heaton’s own goal three minutes before halftime.
United overturned the score in the 64th minute thanks to Victor Lindelof’s header to the far post, but Villa only needed two minutes to equalize, with Tyrone Mings defeating David de Gea from a close range with a volley kick.
The result left United winning just two of the last nine matches in the highest caste competition in England and are temporarily ranked ninth, 22 points behind Liverpool who are top.
Worse yet, United have only collected 18 points from 14 matches in the league this season – becoming the lowest record in the current stage since the 1988/89 season.
That year, United finished 11th in the First Division and 25 points behind champions Arsenal, who ended the season with the same total points as Liverpool, only they had more goals.
As for this season United were also less consistent at the back, considering they have always conceded in their last nine league games.
Despite scoring three
consecutive clean sheets in February, United have only since been able to win
two clean sheets in their last 25 league games.
