Ole Gunnar Solskjaer often makes Liverpool an example

By db-admin

DBasia.news – In the course of his career, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was greatly influenced by Liverpool, the club he has supported since childhood. No wonder Liverpool is often used as a reference by the Norwegian manager.

In 2018, Solskjaer took Molde’s team to Marbella for pre-season training. Whether it’s a coincidence or not, Marbella is also Liverpool’s choice.

It was there that Solskjaer met Jurgen Klopp and immediately asked for a group photo taken by club photographer, Molde Per Lille. In that brief meeting, Solskjaer said that he had learned Klopp’s way from his time at Borussia Dortmund.

“It’s great to meet him. I studied him and how to play like that which I want to imitate. Especially the way they counterattack and play attack,” Solskjaer told Molde’s official website as quoted by the Manchester Evening News in February 2019.

One year after that meeting, Solskjaer, who coached Manchester United, fought against Klopp. In the match that was held at Old Trafford it ended in a goalless draw. In the next two matches, Solskjaer failed to win again, only to a draw at Old Trafford and a 0-2 defeat at Anfield.

On Sunday (18/1) at Liverpool headquarters, Anfield Stadium, Solskjaer continued to face Liverpool, the club he idolized and against Jurgen Klopp, the manager he wanted to emulate. Unlike the previous meeting, this time Solskjaer’s team came while on top of Liverpool.
