Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Trauma after Successfully Winning over Paris Saint Germain
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Manchester United are filled with high self-confidence after defeating Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) at home in the inaugural match of the 2020-2021 Champions League group phase. However, the positive result left the manager feeling traumatized, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Manchester United were able to beat PSG with a score of 2-1 in a match at the Parc desd Princes on Wednesday (21/10) in the morning WIB. Even though Marcus Rashford and his friends were not seeded in this match.
This condition is a kind of deja vu for Manchester United. In the 2018-2019 season, the Red Devils were also able to achieve the same result in the last 16 of the Champions League.
Ironically, Manchester United’s performance after that was in freefall. They lost eight defeats by the end of the season.
This is what traumatized Solskjaer. He is afraid that a series of bad results after winning at PSG will be repeated.
“For me, this is a big test because we all remember what happened after beating PSG last time. The response was not the greatest, right?” said Solskjaer on the club’s official website.
Conditions two seasons ago and now are quite similar. Manchester United were both challenged by the London club after winning at home to PSG.
In 2019, Manchester United were crushed by Arsenal three days after humiliating PSG. This time they will be challenged by Chelsea after defeating the French giants.
So from that Solskjaer warned his foster children to stay grounded. The match against Chelsea is a test of Manchester United’s consistency.
“We need to overcome the ups and downs of the home form. This is an opportunity for the players and also the staff to show that we have changed since then,” he concluded.
