Ousmane Dembele Hamstring Injury and will be Absent for 10 Weeks
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Injury again struck the Barcelona winger, Ousmane Dembele. This time the injury is quite long.
This time, the 22-year-old injured a hamstring on his right leg and missed Barcelona for 10 weeks. The injury was obtained when Barcelona won 3-1 against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
“Medical examinations have confirmed the first team player, Ousmane Dembele, has suffered a muscle injury in his right hamstring. It is estimated that recovery time will take 10 weeks,” said a statement on the official Barcelona website.
Injury is nothing new for the former Dortmund player. Since joining Barcelona from Dortmund in 2017 with a dowry of 145 million euros, Dembele has been injured nine times in total, making it difficult for him to maintain consistency.
Naturally, Dembele was dubbed the ‘Glass Man’ only after Arjen Robben because of his injury record. The injury disrupted the career of Dembele who originally had the talent to become a star in Europe: agile legs and accelerated speed.
Now, Ernesto Valverde cannot play until February 2020. Dembele will miss several important matches against Atletico Madrid or Real Madrid in Clasico in December.
The Positive side, Dembele could again add strength to the front lines of Barca in the last 16 of the Champions League which took place in February. Dembele could be a good option upfront besides Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and Antoine Griezmann.
