Barcelona president says Dembele is better than Mbappe

DBasia.news – Barcelona president Joan Laporta says that Ousmane Dembele is better than Kylian Mbappe. Barcelona are currently in the stage of negotiating a contract extension with Dembele.

As reported by Marca, Laporta believes Dembele is better than his compatriot, Mbappe. The Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) forward has long been said to be a target for Real Madrid. Talks about Dembele’s contract, which expires on June 30, 2022, have been going on for some time. However, there has been no agreement between the two parties so far.

Barcelona reportedly wants to extend Dembele’s tenure until 2025. Of course, the absence of an agreement has made Barca supporters worried.

But Laporta believes the 24-year-old player will stay with Barcelona. “We have a great relationship with Dembele and he wants to stay,” said Laporta.

“We also want him to stay because he is a great player. He is a better player than Mbappe.”

Barcelona coach, Xavi Hernandez, also wants Dembele to stay in his squad to strengthen the wing position.

“For me, it is very clear that Dembele must stay at Barcelona. In his position as a winger, he can become the best player in the world,” added Xavi.
