Ousmane Dembele was Given a Red Card for Swearing

By db-admin

When hosting Sevilla at Camp Nou, last Monday (7/10), Ousmane Dembele was given a red card. In fact, the French player was sent off because of a misunderstanding.

Language limitations has caused the former Borussia Dortmund player to be rewarded with a red card. Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi, has tried to explain this to Mateu Lahoz, who acts as the referee. However, the 42-year old had already expelled Dembele.

“He doesn’t know how to express it in Spanish. He has limitations about that, “said Messi as reported by Sport English. However, Lahoz insisted that what Dembele said was against the rules. “You heard it yourself,” he told Messi.

Dembele has only joined Barcelona for two seasons. He was brought in from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2017 at a cost of 125 million euros. Language limitations are still considered one of the main problems of adapting in Catalonia.

Despite having to lose Dembele in that match, Barcelona still closed the match brilliantly. Sevilla successfully defeated four goals without reply. The result has made Ernesto Valverde’s players currently ranked second in the standings, Real Madrid sticking tight at the top. After coming to the Eibar headquarters on October19, Barcelona have had to play an important game. Barca are scheduled to host Real Madrid at Camp Nou, five days later.
