Pep Guardiola believes Real Madrid has helped him Develop His Career

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Josep Guardiola has a reputation as one of the best coaches in the world. The Manchester City manager admitted he was able to reach his current level because of ‘help’ from Real Madrid.

In the course of his coaching career, Guardiola has often met great opponents. Among them is Real Madrid who he has faced for four years when Guardiola coached Barcelona (2008-2012).

In addition Guardiola also met Madrid when he coached Bayern Munich and Man City in European competition. Talking about Madrid, Guardiola was quite grateful to have faced them as they ‘helped’ Guardiola to develop his coaching career.

“They are a very strong team, in every respect, and they (Madrid) have helped me become a better coach. Both with Jose Mourinho, with (Manuel) Pellegrini, with all the coaches they have,” Guardiola told DAZN.

“If they have done what they have done, winning three Champions League in a row, to take two league titles from Barcelona when Barcelona in this decade has dominated (LaLiga) unlike other teams, I am glad that things went well for them. “

In this season Guardiola is on the verge of bringing Man City to the Champions League quarterfinals. One of City’s legs has been in the top eight after winning 2-1 on aggregate against Real Madrid in the top 16 and both goals are away goals. But Guardiola did not want to be conceited.

“They ask how you feel when you win something you haven’t won. I don’t know, I don’t know how I feel,” Guardiola added.

“Honestly, I tried it the first year, and the second and third and fourth, and in the coming years. And if [my team] can play in it, I will try and win it, like everyone else.”

“But if I don’t win it, will I fail? Well, I will fail, but the important thing is to try,” concluded Guardiola.
