Pep Guardiola doesn’t mind if Mikel Arteta trains Arsenal
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Pep Guardiola gave the green light to his assistant, Mikel Arteta if he wanted to coach Arsenal.
Arsenal is still on a mission to find a new manager to replace Unai Emery. Although the position is currently occupied by Freddie Ljungberg, the status is still interim.
So far, there are several names in circulation such as Carlo Ancelotti, Massimiliano Allegri, Patrick Vieira, and Mikel Arteta. From these names, Mikel Arteta became one of the strongest candidates.
Arteta’s experience as Pep Guardiola’s assistant is believed to have made the manager understand what Arsenal needed. In addition, Arteta also has other advantages, namely to have defended Arsenal while still playing.
However, Arsenal reportedly encountered obstacles when asking permission to Manchester City. The Citizens reportedly do not want Arteta to leave in the near future.
“You may have turned 45 years old, but still feel unprepared. Or, you are still 35 years old and ready. Han is Arteta who knows,” explained Guardiola as reported by Football London.
“He can do it, but it depends on the club. There are many things that I cannot decide on my own. He is ready to become a manager. It is right if Arteta accepts the offer offered.”
“I am not a person who forces staff or players. I will not order what they should do. We are human beings who have dreams and desires,” said Pep Guardiola.
Mikel Arteta occupies the position of assistant manager of Manchester City since 2016. Currently, the 37-year-old man is still under contract until 2021.
“Hopefully he can survive this season and next – as well as possible at this club. However, Mikel Arteta has a life of his own and I will never say what he should do,” Guardiola said.
