DBasia.news – Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, admitted the defeat of his team in the hunt for Harry Maguire with Manchester United. Guardiola also admitted Man City could not afford him from Leicester City.
Man United reportedly agreed to buy Maguire for £ 80 million – the world’s most expensive defender transfer record. Man City are interested in recruiting him to replace Vincent Kompany who is a coach-player at Anderlecht.
Guardiola lauds the 26-year-old England national team defender. He admitted he was interested in recruiting him, but, unable to meet the demands of Leicester’s price until the player finally docked at Old Trafford. Guardiola congratulates United.
“World-class player (Maguire). We are interested (recruiting Maguire) but cannot afford him. United can buy him. (So) congratulations United for the recruitment,” Guardiola said, as reported by Standard Sport.
Man City are also still trying to complete Joao Cancelo’s transfer from Juventus and exchange Danilo for him – plus cash. This summer, City only recruited Rodri and Angelino.
