Pep Guardiola Rated as Attacking Expert Football Manager

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Former Bayern Munich player Arjen Robben believes Pep Guardiola is a manager who has expertise as an attacking football expert.

Before deciding to hang up his shoes or retire in July 2019, Arjen Robben had a three-year partnership with Guardiola. Cooperation between players and coaches was established during Guardiola’s handling of Die Roten in the 2013-2016 season.

In those three years, Robben and Guardiola managed to present three Bundesliga trophies. Not only that, they also successfully brought Bayern won several other prestigious competitions, such as the Club World Cup and the European Super Cup. They achieved the two titles in the same season, 2013-2014.

When coaching Bayern Munich, Guardiola’s style and coaching philosophy left a distinct impression on Robben. According to Robben, Guardiola is a manager who managed to make his game better. It is inseparable from the similarity in their perspective on how to play soccer.

Robben admitted, the scheme offered by Guardiola had helped him achieve the best performance.

“I love football, and above all, I really like offensive football. Pep (Guardiola) is an expert at it,” Robben said as quoted by Goal.

“He focused on attacking and controlling the ball. Of course, I like it a lot. We are on the same frequency,” he added.

“He made sure that I could be better and more complete,” Robben added.

Furthermore, the former Dutch national team player rated Guardiola as the best manager in the world. In Robben’s eyes, Guardiola outperformed a line of seasoned managers who had accompanied him while actively playing like Louis van Gaal, Carlo Ancelotti, Jupp Heynckes, to Jose Mourinho.

“For me, Pep is the best coach in the world. Three years with him at Bayern Munich are very instructive,” concluded Robben.
