Persib Bandung Asked the Certainty When Liga 1 Will Be Conducted

DBasia.news – PSSI chairman, Edy Rahmayadi, announced the 2018 Liga 1 will be terminated until no designated time.

Persib Bandung coach Mario Gomez asked PSSI to decide the limit of 2018 Liga 1 termination. The reason was to maximize the preparation period.

“We have no idea when will the league starts. Some say one week, some others say two weeks. If the federation said for two weeks, okay we can give a temporary break for the players for 2 or 3 days. And then also conduct a friendly match in another place. But until now I have no idea,” Mario said at GBLA Stadium.

Mario admits his confusion to give the training program for his squad. As scheduled, his team will play against Madura United at GBLA Stadium, Saturday (29/9).

“We want to know how long the termination will be. One week, two weeks, 4 days, 3 days, 20 days? We can’t arrange the preparation for the next match. We have no idea, this is difficult,” he said.

Mario hopes the termination of 2018 Liga 1 by PSSI won’t be too long impacting for the upcoming match.

“Perhaps one eek is great. I remember that we will play in Papua on October 6 and October 17. So we have 11 days there and perhaps we can conduct a friendly match. I hope it won’t be more than that. The league this season must finish by December 9 and it should be the concern. But I repeat, this is a hard situation for all clubs because the competition is terminated, but most importantly tell us when will the league continues,” he insisted.

The termination of 2018 Liga 1 happened due to the death of a Persija supporter, Haringga Sirla, when he was about to watch the match between Persib against Persija in the 23rd-week match of 2018 Liga 1 at GBLA Stadium, Sunday (23/9).

In this termination period, PSSI will investigate the incident to prevent the repetition.
