DBasia.news – Persis Solo decided to appoint Widiyantoro as one of their coach staffs. The Magelang man has been coaching Persis many times.

But, the decision was surprising. Apparently, Persis Solo have four people on the coaching team. Agus Yuwono as the head coach, Haryadi Poetol as the coach assistant, Lukman Afif as the physical coach, and I Komang Putra as the goalkeeper coach.

Moreover, Widyantoro status is under punishment. Previously, he got the sanction to be actively involved in Indonesian football for 12 months. The punishment will be over on October 12.

Widyantoro got the punishment when he was still the coach in the round of 16 2017 Liga 2. PSSI’s disciplinary committee gave the sanction for Widyantoro for his threat and kick to the referee in the match between Cilegon United at Krakatau Steel Stadium, Cilegon.

Persis Solo secretary, Dedi M Lawe said the decision to recruit Widyantoro is related closely to his achievement in bringing the team to the round of 8 the past two seasons. Besides, the club have a moral responsibility due to his status during the punishment period.

“Now, it’s the process as the coach assistant to LIB. He could accompany the team outside the bench after the punishment over next month,” Dedi M. Lawe explained.

He confirmed the arrival of Widyantoro won’t change Agus Yuwono’s duty. He also denied Widyantoro’s designation based on supporters’ intervention.

“There is no such thing as two suns. No overlapping. The status is obvious. He will be the assistant,” he said.

The arrival of Widyantoro is expected to give a new mindset for Persis Solo. Despite the third rank in the west group standing, the point difference between Persis Solo and the next group below them just one or two points. Once fallen, Persis Solo could be eliminated to the mid standing, even near to degraded teams.
