Philippe Coutinho Will receive a Second Chance at Barcelona
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Barcelona manager, Quique Setien, will reportedly give Philippe Coutinho a second chance. Coutinho has the opportunity to strengthen Barcelona again next season after his loan period at Bayern Munich ends.
Coutinho failed to show his best appearance since he was brought in by Barcelona in early 2018. Even though the Blaugrana had to spend up to 160 million Euros to bring him from Liverpool.
Coutinho was unable to show his magic at Camp Nou. He only appeared in 54 matches and contributed eleven goals and five assists for Barcelona.
At the start of this season, Coutinho even had to be loaned out to Bayern Munich. Since then, many people have considered that his career in Barcelona has ended.
But Coutinho’s luck could have changed. The reason is of course the arrival of Quique Setien who replaced Ernesto Valverde.
“Coutinho? I like him very much. He is still a Barcelona player, so you have to pay a clause or transfer fee to Barca (if wanting to bring him in),” Setien told RAC 1.
It’s no secret that Valverde has taken part in making Coutinho unoptimal in his performance with Barcelona. The 56-year-old coach prefers to play him as a winger than the player’s favorite position, attacking midfielder.
Quique Setien
Setien seems not to want to repeat Valverde’s mistakes. He will try to unleash Coutinho’s best potential.
“I think he could be here at the start of next season. I don’t know if he wants to come back or leave again, I have to talk to him to ask that,” he added.
“He is a great player, no doubt.”
Setien’s statement could make Chelsea wary. The London club are indeed trying to bring Coutinho on loan next season.
