Pioli replaces Giampaolo’s position as AC Milan coach
By db-admin
DBasia.news – AC Milan officially fired Marco Giampaolo from the coach’s seat on Tuesday (8/10/2019). The reason is the poor performance of the Rossoneri at the start of the 2019/20 Italian League. Now the Rossoneri coaching chair has been replaced by Stefano Pioli on a two-year contract.
Pioli will be appointed after the sacking of Marco Giampaolo and returning to the San Siro after he was sacked by Inter in May 2017.
There are already seven coaches representing both sides of the Milan cliff.
The first was Jozsef Viola, who was responsible for what came to be known as Ambrosiana-Inter in 1928-29 and moved across the city in 1933-34.
Giuseppe Bigogno took Milan to second place and then survived half a season at Inter in 1958.
Gigi Radice was fired by Milan in 1981-82 and was more successful at Inter for 1983-84.
Ilario Castagner is a rare exception because he immediately moved from Milan in Serie B to Inter the following season.
Giovanni Trapattoni during his long career as Coach of Juventus, Milan (in 1973-74) and broke the Serie A record at Inter in 1988-89.
Alberto Zaccheroni won the Scudetto for the Rossoneri in 1998-1999, then played briefly at Inter in 2003-04.
The latest is Leonardo, who was in charge of the Milan bench in 2009-10, then joined Inter in December 2010 to June 2011, winning the Coppa Italia.
He returned to Milan as a director before leaving this summer.
