President of Barcelona: We will not bring Lautaro Martinez or Neymar

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Barcelona President, Josep Maria Bartomeu, said that his management will not buy Lautaro Martinez or Neymar Junior in the 2020 summer transfer market.

Although the two players have long been linked with Barcelona, Bartomeu acknowledged that the corona virus crisis has left the club’s finances uncertain so far.

Barca supporters hope that their front lines are strengthened this summer after being deemed less sharp in the 2019-20 season. Barcelona only brought Martin Braithwaite from Leganes as an emergency transfer due to an injury crisis that struck.

Bartomeu has now indicated that the club will not be able to spend large funds to bring in star players.

“Barca have been talking to Inter about Lautaro for the past few weeks, but talks have been postponed with mutual agreement. “The current situation does not allow for large transfer fees,” Bartomeu told Sport.

“In the current situation, no. PSG also doesn’t want to sell Neymar, which makes sense because he’s one of the best players in the world. Last summer we tried very hard to recruit him, but this summer we won’t even try.”

“The club lost 200 million euros around Rp3.46 trillion between March and June. If the situation does not improve, there will be no people in the stands, in museums or shops and we will continue to lose money.”

“This will cause us to revise our spending plans and make us wait. We have to adapt,” Bartomeu added.

“All the big European clubs have been affected and we are all trying to adapt. It will not only be for one year, it can be up to three or four years.”
