DBasia.news – Surprisingly England defeated the host Spain 3-2n in the League A Group 4 of 2018 UEFA Nations League.
In this match, Raheem Sterling became the star of England by scoring two goals.
Performing in front of their public, Spain pressed England’s defense. Some opportunities were created, but nothing resulted in a goal.
Too busy attacking made Spain distracted. Consequently, Raheem Sterling netted the ball to David De Gea at 16′. The goal made La Furia Roja became more eager in attacking.
Being under pressure, England duplicated the dominance by Marcus Rashford’s kick at 30′. Eight minutes later, Gareth Southgate squad dominated the match after Sterling wrote his name in the scoreboard. Sterling utilized the passing from Harry Kane.
In the second half, Spain tried to follow. Unfortunately, there were only two goals created from Palco Alcacer (58′) and Sergio Ramos (90′). The match ended with a 3-2 score for England.
The victory was meaningful for Sterling. He just scored the goal for England national team after the goal-drought for 1102 days. The Manchester City striker scored the goal the last time in the match against Estonia, October 2015.
