Issue of Ralf Rangnick to AC Milan Increasingly Circulating

By db-admin

DBasia.news – AC Milan won an indefectible victory against Lecce in the continued of Week 27 of Serie A at Via del Mare on Tuesday (23/06). Even so, rumors of the arrival of Ralf Rangnick remained in circulation.

Milan defeated Lecce with an absolute score of 4-1 via goals from Samu Castillejo (26′), Giocomo Bonaventura (55′), Ante Rebic (57′), and Rafael Leao (72′) who were sent off by Marco Mancosu (54’). Milan are now in seventh place with 39 points.

The victory kept hope for Milan to enter the European zone (Europa League). Stefano Pioli doesn’t want his squad to reduce the playing rhythm in the remaining 11 matches to reach the best possible finish position in Serie A.

“We play well against a team that prefers to defend and wait for us to attack, so we need space to open (the opponent’s defense),” Pioli told Sky Sport Italia.

“Lecce has the opportunity to return to it with an equalizer, but we managed to get back ahead. This is an important victory, we need these points and encouragement.”

“The goal must be European qualification and chasing those who are ahead of us in the standings. Rome seems quite far, but then there is a (duel) head to head on Sunday. There are many points to be achieved in the remaining 11 matches and we must try it.”

The purpose of the match was Milan’s next match against the team that currently is in fifth place, AS Roma on Sunday (6/28).

Interestingly, despite the victory achieved, rumors of Ralf Rangnick arrival are still widely discussed by Italian media. According to news that was widely circulated, the 61-year-old coach will handle AC Milan at the start of the 2020-21 season. It doesn’t matter to Milan’s finishing position this season in Serie A.

Ivan Gazidis, CEO of Milan has started the revolution of the club by dismissing Zvonimir Boban and reportedly will continue by appointing Rangnick as head coach plus concurrently developing the club’s young players division.

Responding to the issue, Pioli remained calm and relaxed. The focus is now on Milan and try to get the club to finish the season in the best position possible.

“I am not interested in what has been said (the issue of Rangnick’s arrival). I am happy with the team, I have worked from the beginning with passion and competence, then the future will be determined at the end of the season,” said Pioli.
