DBasia.news –  In a match that took place at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium, Sociedad’s ambition to rise to the top of the Spanish league standings had to fail when Sevilla won the match with a score of 3-2, Sunday, local time.

While preventing Sociedad’s path from closing the seventh week at the top of the standings, Sevilla improved their position to sixth with a collection of 13 points just one place below their opponent who had the same amount of points, according to the official Spanish League website.

Sociedad was very promising when they started the game and were able to open the scoring after three minutes of the match when Adnan Januzaj’s breakthrough pass was welcomed and completed well by Mikel Oyarzabal.

However, the host managed to equalize in the 17th minute through a goal from Nolito who used Ever Banega’s cross post.

Since then Sevilla have dominated the game even though Lucas Ocampos’s two successive chances was countered by goalkeeper, Miguel Angel Moya, and the first half ended with a 1-1 draw.

Two minutes into the second half, Ocampos finally listed his name on the scoreboard with a shot from the right side that successfully conquered Moya while bringing Sevilla turned to lead 2-1.

Joan Jordan almost scored again for Sevilla in the 77th minute if his shot from outside the penalty box did not hit the goalpost.

However, three minutes later Sevilla really increased their lead to 3-1 when Franco Vazquez successfully scoredinto the bottom left corner of the goal.

Sociedad tried to rise with the remaining time available and Portu had stirred up spirits as he scored to reduce the gap to 2-3 in the 87th minute.

Unfortunately, the time was too short and their final opportunity through Mikel Merino’s header in injury time still bounced over the crossbar, forcing Sociedad to return from Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan empty-handed.
