DBasia.news –  Recently, Inter Milan striker, Romelu Lukaku, became a racial victim at Cagliari headquarters. However, according to the confession made by Curva Nord Milano 1969, Ultras Inter, Cagliari fans were not racist.

Inter Milan took home three points from the Sardegna Arena. The condition was after they won 2-1 in the second week of the 2019-2020 Serie A match.

Unfortunately, an unpleasant experience occurred with Romelu Lukaku. Cagliari supporters gave racial harassment to the Belgian attacker.

Every time Romelu Lukaku holds the ball, ape sounds were heard in the stadium. Even worse, when Lukaku was preparing to execute a penalty.

After the match, Romelu Lukaku made a statement that the action could not be justified. Lukaku asked the supporters to be mature.

However, Lukaku’s statement did not receive the support of Curva Nord Milano. They were actually sided on the Cagliari supporters.

“We write to you on behalf of Curva Nord. Yes, the people who welcomed you when you arrived in Milan,” wrote Curva Nord.

“We apologize if you think what happened in Cagliari was an act of racism. You should consider that Italy is not like other European countries where racialism is a real problem.”

“We understand what has happened, but it is no what it seems. In Italy, we use certain methods to help the team and try to make opponents unfocused. It is not because of racial, but to make them confused,” continued Curva Nord.

“We are a multi-ethnic supporters and always welcome players from all over the world. However, we also do certain ways to challenge opposing players in the past and may continue to do so in the future.”

Curva Nord has asked Lukaku to understand that what the supporters in Italy were doing was just to help their team win. According to Curva Nord, it was not an act of racism.

“The fight against racialism really has to start from school, not stadiums. Be assured that what they say or do with black players will not happen in reality,” Curva Nord stated.

“the supporters in Italy will not be perfect. We understand the sense of frustration created by this action, but it is not done for discriminatory purposes. Once again, welcome Romelu,” concluded Curva Nord.

Curva Nord Milano has done acts of racism several times. For example, when mocking supporters of Napoli with the tragedy of the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. In addition, they also attacked Mario Balotelli with ape gestures.
