Regarding Salary, Marc Ter Stegen Rejects New Contract from Barcelona
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Barcelona goalkeeper, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, is rumored to want a new contract with a high salary in Barcelona. But the Blaugarana reportedly refused the German goalkeeper’s request.
Ter Stegen wanted a salary of 13 million pounds per year. With a salary of that amount, he will become the player with the second highest salary at Barca, his salary is only smaller than the Blaugrana megastar, Lionel Messi.
Previously reported, Ter Stegen was disappointed with the salary he received at Camp Nou. The German goalkeeper only received 4.5 million euros. Which is smaller than Europe’s top goalkeepers, such as Manuel Neuer, Thibaut Courtois and Ederson Moraes.
But it seems that Barcelona did not want to raise the salary of the German national team player, seeing that his performance is still inferior to the current La Liga goalkeepers.
As a comparison, this season Ter Stegen has conceded 29 goals in La Liga and recorded 8 clean sheets. That amount is still less superior to Courtois (16 conceded, 12 clean sheets) and Jan Oblak (21 conceded, 11 clean sheets).
Because of this, there are increasingly rumors that the former Borussia Monchengladbach player is likely to look for a new club. Reported from Goal, Chelsea will try to bring in the 27-year-old goalkeeper.
The negative performance of the Blues goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga, is believed to have made them look for a new goalkeeper for next season.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen, brought in by Barcelona from the Bundesliga club, Borussia Monchengladbach at a price of 20 million euros in 2014. He had been a backup goalkeeper for Claudio Bravo for one season before being promoted to being the main goalkeeper after Bravo moved to Manchester City.
