Replacing Giampaolo, Stefano Pioli Becomes AC Milan’s 7th Coach after the Allegri Era

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  After the sacking of Marco Giampaolo, Stefano Pioli was officially appointed as the new coach of AC Milan. After Massimiliano Allegri left AC Milan in 2014, Pioli became the seventh coach to manage the club.

Allegri, 52, is the last coach to be able to give the Serie A title in the 2010-11 season and the Italian Super Cup. The former Juventus coach also consistently coached Milan for four years, from 2010 to 2014.

So it is understandable to start comparing Milan in the Massimiliano Allegri era and afterwards. Since Allegri left, Milan had been plagued by inconsistencies which are quite common with six different coaches. Instead of fighting over the Scudetto, fighting in the Champions League zone was challenging.

The six coaches are Clarencce Seedorf, Filippo Inzaghi, Sinisa Mihajlovic, Vincenzo Montella, Gennaro Gattuso, and Giampaolo. All six have their respective stories before being fired by the club.

Ironically, the three coaches are Milan legends: Seedorf, Inzaghi, and Gattuso. All three have their own stories from the experience of training Il Diavolo Rosso. Judging from the comparison of how long they lead, the percentage of wins, plus trophy achievements, Montella and Gattuso have a plus.

The following is a record of six Milan coaches after Allegri and before Pioli with a record of winning percentages, training periods, and trophies they won:

1. Clarence Seedorf (2014): 144 days lead, win percentage 50%, zero trophy.

2. Flippo Inzaghi (2014-15): 372 days lead, 35% winning percentage, zero trophy.

3. Sinisa Mihajlovic (2015-16): 301 days lead, win percentage 50%, zero trophy.

4. Vincenzo Montella (2016-17): 514 days lead, win percentage 52%, trophy one.

5. Gennaro Gattuso (2017-19): 547 days lead, 49% winning percentage, zero trophy.

6. Marco Giampaolo (2019): 111 days lead, 43% winning percentage, zero trophy.
