RFEF Proposed Rules Changes if LaLiga Continues

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) said they would propose possible changes to the rules regarding substitutions in matches. RFEF proposed to allow clubs to make five substitutions per match if the competition starts again.

Actually the proposal had previously been made by FIFA. The goal is to help the club better manage the players’ fitness after a long absence.

At present the FIFA proposal is still awaiting approval from the International Football Association Board (IFAB).

Citing Goal, RFEF President Luis Rubiales has communicated the idea to LaLiga chairman Javier Tebas, who indicated his support.

“Rubiales detailed that more than a month ago RFEF discussed the possibility of more changes in football matches with FIFA, given the situation of the players if the competition continued,” continued the RFEF statement.

“FIFA has recently agreed to the possibility of making this change and has submitted it to IFAB, the international body in charge of approving amendments to the rules, which in this case is waiting for the green light for the First Division.”

In recent days, LaLiga clubs have called in players for medical tests. Hopefully the training session can begin in the near future.
