Rodrygo Can Join If Liverpool Has a Lot of Money

DBasia.news –  Former Rodrygo Goes coach at Santos, Elano, said that before joining Real Madrid, Rodrygo almost joined Liverpool last summer. Elano also said, if Liverpool offered more money, there was a possibility Rodrygo could play at Anfield this season.

However, Elano revealed that the Reds offer for Rodrygo was too small so he canceled the dock to Anfield. After that, Madrid came with an offer of € 45 million and managed to bring the teenage attacker to Spain.

“There was a period where Liverpool was very interested in recruiting him. He was still in the academy. Liverpool made a very low bid, but they were determined to bring him in,” Elano told ESPN.

“Shortly thereafter, Real made an offer of € 30 million more than Liverpool! I then talked to the staff and colleagues at the club and agreed that this boy was worthy of such high regard.”

Rodrygo himself immediately caught the attention in his debut season at the Santiago Bernabeu. Most recently, he made history by packing a hat-trick to help Madrid win 6-0 over Galatasaray in the Champions League. Elano is sure that Rodrygo will continue to develop in Madrid considering that he is still 18 years old.

“Although he is still very young, he has maturity. I believe in his football abilities. He still has a lot of room to develop,” continued Elano.

“He is a quiet person, but now the situation has changed. He has played for the Brazilian national team and Real Madrid. His whole life has changed. He must now be fostered as well as possible.”
