DBasia.news – Serie A 2019/20 is no longer a time to play around for Romelu Lukaku. Every matches remaining in this competition is a life and death match for him.
Inter Milan defeated Sampdoria 2-1 in the 2019-2020 Serie A match, at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Monday (6/22). The victory kept the Nerazzurri’s hopes of winning the Serie A title this season.
Romelu Lukaku opened Inter Milan’s victory in the 10th minute. The former Machester United player scored through a good cooperation with Christian Eriksen.
Inter Milan increased the advantage to 2-0 after Lautaro Martinez scored in the 33rd minute. Then, one goal for the away team was created through a Morten Thorsby kick in the 52nd minute.
With these results, Inter Milan cut the distance with the leaders of the standings, Juventus, to six points. With 12 matches left, the chances of La Beneamata becoming a champion are still wide open.
“It is very important to win today because all the matches remaining until the end of the season are final for us. Each match will be very important for us,” Lukaku said after the match, as reported by the Inter Milan official website.
“We have to focus on Wednesday’s game. We need to recover our physical condition and get ready because this time will not be easy for anyone,” added the former Chelsea striker.
“We have worked well physically. However, we can and must continue to improve ourselves,” he added.
Now, Romelu Lukaku has scored 18 goals in Serie A. With that nick, Lukaku has became the fourth Inter Milan player in 30 years to score at least 18 goals in a season in Serie A. Another player who has done that is Diego Milito (2009-2010), Ronaldo Nazario (1997-1998), and Ruben Sosa (1992-1993).
