Romelu Lukaku admits he was afraid during a training session at Chelsea

DBasia.news – Chelsea spearhead, Romelu Lukaku has revealed his thought of training at his new club under Thomas Tuchel. Lukaku had experienced fear in the training session.

Chelsea spent up to 115 million euros to repatriate Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan. The 28-year-old striker is expected to be the answer to Chelsea’s front line, which often struggled to score goals.

Not surprisingly, a big burden is on Lukaku’s shoulders. Moreover, he had several times failed at Stamford Bridge. Lukaku is increasingly expected because of his brilliant performance at Inter Milan. He scored 64 goals in just 95 games.

However, at the beginning of his arrival, Lukaku was afraid. The striker was surprised by the very high intensity of training.

“The first two training sessions were very intense. Therefore, in the first two or three days I was a little scared. However, two days before the match, we had a training session where I scored two goals and I started to believe in myself,” Lukaku said as reported by Sky Sports.

Lukaku’s confidence began to grow along with the goals he created. The former Manchester United striker scored one goal in Chelsea’s win at Arsenal.

“The team looks good. Also with the coach. I like the system we play because it’s the same as in the Belgian national team. Only the emphasis is different. For me, it’s fantastic because I play in a team that dominates.”

However, Lukaku’s condition is reportedly has a bit of a problem. The striker suffered a defeat after undergoing a very busy schedule both at club and national team level. Lukaku had just made 100 appearances for the Belgian national team. In particular, he scored his 67th goal.

“I will do a thigh scan first. I struggled with a small problem for a while. Then, I will return to Chelsea,” stated Lukaku.

Chelsea will welcome Aston Villa in the fourth week of the Premier League 2021-2022, at Stamford Bridge, Saturday (11/9). Currently, the Blues are in fourth place in the standings with seven points.
