Romelu Lukaku’s agent insists he left Inter Milan not because of money

DBasia.news – Romelu Lukaku’s agent, Federico Pastorello, has spoken about his client’s decision to leave Inter Milan for Chelsea. Pastorello insists, Lukaku chose Chelsea not because of money.

Romelu Lukaku was instrumental in pushing his move to Chelsea. Finally, the striker returned to Stamford Bridge for a fee of 115 million euros. In addition, Lukaku receives a salary of 12 million euros per season. This value is the highest among Chelsea players.

Not surprisingly, the former Manchester United received scathing criticism from Inter Milan supporters. In fact, Nerazzurri supporters damaged a mural of Lukaku near the Giuseppe Meazza stadium.

After a moment of silence, Lukaku’s side finally opened up. Federico Pastorello insists that Lukaku chose Chelsea because he still has unfinished tasks.

“The narrative that the transfer of Lukaku was engineered and forced only for financial interests completely misled everyone. Chelsea’s interest really touched Lukaku from the beginning. Because the club wanted Lukaku to do something unique and special,” Pastorello wrote.

“He wanted to wear that (Chelsea) jersey. He succeeded when he was 18 and unfortunately left before he could make his mark and win something important.”

“The opportunity to try came at the age of 28. It was an opportunity to be full circle and professional. He decided it was time to accept the challenge,” Pastorello continued.

“Believe it or not, the affection of the supporters and the special bond with the city of Milan made him think about it for some time: but then, once he made up his mind, he proceeded with faith and determination.”

Pastorello also agrees that Inter Milan officials are trying hard to keep Lukaku. Unfortunately, transfers are hard to avoid.

“With regards to FC Internazionale, I can guarantee that Sport CEO Giuseppe Marotta, Sporting Director Piero Ausilio, as well as coach Simone Inzaghi, who works here personally are doing everything in their power to avoid this transfer.”

“However, there are circumstances that go beyond their decision-making range and rely on the owner’s instructions.”
