DBasia.news – The new Liverpool player, Diogo Jota, admitted that he was happy to score his debut goal when the Reds defeated Arsenal 3-1 in the 2020-2021 Premiere League continued, Tuesday (29/9).

Jurgen Klopp’s squad defeated the Gunners through three goals scored by Sadio Mane, Andrey Robertson and Diogo Jota, while Arsenal’s goal was scored by Alexandre Lacazette.

“The feeling is extraordinary. I hope the stadium is full of spectators, but I am still happy to be able to ensure victory for the team,” Jota said as quoted by the Tribal Football page, Tuesday (29/9).

“In football, sometimes we score goals, but at times we fail. We just have to hope, and I do.”

He said, Klopp asked him to continue to pressure opposing players who held the ball. The former Wolverhampton player also felt that he had done a good job.

“I will do my job by training every day, working hard and showing my best,” he added.

He revealed, the goal in last night’s match will not be the only goal this season. Jota will try to find as many opponents as possible.

“I’ve scored one, I want another goal. We’ve performed well at the start of the season, three games (always winning) and want to keep getting three points,” he concluded.

After this match, Liverpool will meet Arsenal again in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup competition, Friday (02/10).
