Setien Responds to Arthur Melo heading to Juventus

DBasia.news – Barcelona midfielder, Arthur Melo is rumored to be interested in Juventus. Quique Setien said the rumors has affected Arthur’s performance.

Barcelona and Juventus are reportedly negotiating Miralem Pjanic’s exchange with Arthur. The latest news states that Juventus and Barcelona has agreed on a transfer value of 80 million euros.

But Juventus still has to convince Arthur to move to Turin. As the Brazilian midfielder was still reluctant to leave Barcelona.

Reports of an agreement between Juventus and Barcelona came just hours before Arthur started in the match against Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday (6/24/2020) early morning hrs. In the match that was finally won by Barcelona with a score of 1-0, Arthur only played for 54 minutes before being replaced by Richard Puig.

Setien admitted that the speculation regarding the future might affect Arthur’s performance. Therefore, Barcelona will talk to the 23-year-old midfielder to maintain his focus.

“If that’s the problem (reaching an agreement), maybe that will affect him,” Setien said as reported by ESPN.

“But I am happy with the work he is doing. He is an important player for us and we are trying to get the best from him.”

“In this situation, we are trying to isolate ourselves from what was said, things that we cannot control. We will talk to him so he is focused. I understand this is a complicated situation, but we must overcome it,” he stated.
