Setien Reveals His Big Dream with Barcelona
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Barcelona coach, Quique Setien, revealed his big dream that is still buried with the Blaugrana. The dream of the 61-year-old coach is somewhat strange, namely winning the Champions League and celebrating it with cows.
Quique Setien coached Barcelona on January 13, 2020 to replace Ernesto Valverde. The presence of the coach who admired Johan Cruyff changed Barcelona’s game back to ball possession and offensive.
The players are still trying to examine the philosophy that Setien brought and do not fully understand it. Nevertheless it did not make the former Las Palmas and Real Betis coaches stop hoping.
Setien dreamed of winning the LaLiga title and the Champions League with Barcelona and to celebrate it in the Cantabria meadows with the cows he had.
“I have told the players that I am in a hurry, that I have no time to lose, and that I want to win the Champions League and LaLiga,” Setien told TV3.
“If you can (win) both, it’s better. And of course I dreamed of walking around Liencres with cows while holding the Champions League trophy and showing it to them.”
It’s not easy to make it happen, moreover Barca last won the Champions League title in 2015 under Luis Enrique.
Setien has a contract with Barcelona until 2021 with an option to renew for a year as the club observes his performance.
“I signed the contract for one and a half year, another year conditionally and I hope to fulfill it and then extend it,” hoped Setien.
Finally, Setien talked about the league being delayed due to the corona virus. There was a discourse of the league being postponed and the current league leader, Barcelona, was crowned champion.
Regarding this matter, Setien claimed not to have felt like a champion if the league was stopped. Setien only hopes that the corona virus pandemic will end soon.
“What I want to do is play and become champions by playing – that’s clear. But the situation is as it is now,” Setien added.
“I don’t know if it’s worth it (ending LaLiga with the current position). “I wouldn’t feel like a champion if I had two more points (from Real Madrid) now.”
“If we have to end the season then end it now, a little play is good as it will give us a chance to maintain our lead at the top of the table.
“But all this football is incidental. This is a difficult situation and what worries me is finding a solution to the crisis (corona virus) as soon as possible. So we can go out and hug all the older people. The rest is excessive and I don’t pay much attention to it, “explained Setien.
