Shaqiri’s Ambition: to Win the Champions League with Liverpool

DBasia.news – Liverpool new midfielder, Xherdan Shaqiri, has the ambition to bring The Reds to win the Champions League. Shaqiri thinks The Reds has the quality to win the most prestigious Europe club competition.

Liverpool was just one step from the Champions League victory after entering the final round last season. Unfortunately, Mohamed Salah and friends couldn’t do anything in Real Madrid hands.

Now, Liverpool is strengthening the squad by bringing in some new players including Shaqiri. The Sweden player was once winning the Champions League at 2013.

“I hope I can repeat that because I know how it feels to win the Champions League. It is really amazing and I think we can do it,” Shaqiri told Sky Sports News.

“I think the important thing is to be successful and to be successful you need to win some titles and trophies and I hope we can lift some trophies this year.”

Besides stating his expectation with Liverpool, Shaqiri also explains the reason behind why he accepted The Reds’ offer.

“When I heard the club wanted me I wanted to come because I’ve known him (Klopp) a long time. I’ve admired him for a long time and I am really happy to be here,” Shaqiri emphasized.

“Jurgen Klopp is a great person and a great character with a winning mentality and that’s the most important thing.”
