Solskjaer’s heavy burden chasing Mourinho and Klopp

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been awaited by heavy-duty when Manchester United visits Manchester City in the early hours of the morning.  But he also had the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Jose Mourinho and Juergen Klopp.

Manchester United travel to Etihad Stadium on Thursday (1/30/2020) early morning Western Indonesian Time in the second leg match of the English League Cup semifinals.  ‘Red Devils’ faces a difficult challenge because it is in a 1-3 position behind Manchester City from the first leg.

The challenge was even more difficult for Man United because a number of pillars were absent.  Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba, and Scott McTominay are still in the process of recovering injuries.

This situation undoubtedly made Solskjaer have to double his brain, how to achieve victory and reverse the position with the lame team condition.  But at the very least, Solskjaer had the capital of a 2-1 victory at Etihad in December at the English League.

At that time, Man United even won two goals first through Rashford and Anthony Martial, before then Man City responded by Nicolas Otamendi.

Well, that victory also can deliver Solskjaer to a record in the match tonight.  He could become the third manager to win two consecutive away win over Pep Guardiola, as reported by the Manchester Evening News.

So far, only Jose Mourinho and Juergen Klopp can make it happen.  Any victory is enough for Solskjaer to follow in the footsteps of his two colleagues … although for Man United it’s not necessarily enough.

As is known Man United needs a victory by a difference of three goals to reverse the position, or at least two goals ahead in 90 minutes to bring the match to penalties.
