Son Heung-min’s Solo goal was chosen as the 2019-20 Premier League’s best goal

DBasia.news – Tottenham Hotspur winger, Son Heung-min’s goal against Burnley in December 2019, was voted the best in the 2019-20 Premier League season.

Son’s sensational goal against Burnley exceeded nine other candidates, including goals from Bruno Fernandes and Kevin De Bruyne.

The South Korean winger’s goal was fantastic. Receiving the ball from his own defense, Son made a quick solo run, swerving and darting towards Burnley’s goal. Six Burnley players failed to stop it until Son made his way into the penalty box and defeated goalkeeper, Nick Pope.

Seeing this phenomenal event, Tottenham manager, Jose Mourinho praised Son’s goal that was similar to Ronaldo Luis Nazario, who often scored solo runs.

“Before scoring this goal, my son called him Sonaldo and that day his name was Sonaldo Nazario,” Mourinho said as quoted by the Daily Mail.

“The only thing that comes to my mind is a goal that makes me feel honored to watch it with Bobby Robson. At that time Barcelona met Compostela in 1996 and Ronaldo Nazario scored a goal similar to what Son did,” explained Mourinho.

Throughout this season, Son collected 18 goals in 41 appearances for Tottenham in all competitions.
