Soon Chelsea Will Officially Bring Kai Havertz
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Chelsea manager Frank Lampard will soon be arriving in his sixth recruit this season. This is after Kai Havertz is reportedly ready to fly to England.
As reported by Goal, after several weeks of negotiations, Chelsea and Bayer Leverkusen finally closed the transaction with a common ground at a price of 80.5 million euros. This price will still increase by 20 million euros in relation to the performance of the 21-year-old player. In total, to face the 2010-21 season, Chelsea poured more than 200 million pounds.
Meanwhile, Kai Havertz will be the most expensive purchase in Chelsea history. The record for Chelsea’s most expensive transfer was previously held by Kepa Arrizabalaga, who was brought in from Athletic Bilbao with a tag of 80 million euros.
Chelsea’s certainty to get Havertz is a matter of time. The player himself has agreed to a five-year contract proposed by the Blues. Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen coach Peter Bosz has confirmed that Havertz will no longer train with his squad.
“I don’t expect Havertz to return to training with us again. There are other players as well. We certainly need to sign new players,” said Peter Bosz.
Meanwhile at Chelsea, after Havertz, their focus is now on getting a new goalkeeper. Goal revealed that Chelsea are currently making a second approach to Rennes goalkeeper Eduoard Mendy.
“There may be more, maybe a goalkeeper,” said Chelsea technical and performance advisor Petr Cech.
