Southampton Leaves the Relegation Zone

DBasia.news – Southampton left the relegation zone after smothering Norwich City by a score of 2-1 in the 15th matchday of the English Premier League at St. Mary’s, Wednesday.
Not only out of the red zone, Southampton also moved up to 17th with a collection of 15 points, while Norwich have not been able to leave the relegation zone as they are still stuck in 19th place with 11 points, according to the official English League page.
The host opened the lead first in the first half through James Ward-Prowse’s cross which was completed by Danny Ings’s shot that was unable to be reached by goalkeeper, David Martin.
Southampton doubled their lead two minutes before halftime. Shane Long’s corner which Ryan Bertrand received was able to nest the ball into the left corner of the goal.
Norwich could only return a goal in the 65th minute when Alexander Tettey’s brilliant pass was struck by Teemu Pukki by firing a shot that was successfully deceived by goalkeeper, Alex McCarthy. The 2-1 score lasted until the game ended.
