Spurs Underwent a Bad Period, Pochettino Believed to Not Need a New Player
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Spurs have had to suffer embarrassing defeats in the last two matches of Southampton (1-2) and Munchen (2-7). Even so, Mauricio Pochettino insisted Spurs did not need a new player in January.
Tottenham Hotspur was slaughtered by Bayern Munich 2-7 in the Champions League. After that, it was Brighton’s turn to add to the suffering of Harry Kane et al by winning 3-0 in the Premier League.
This situation then led many to advise Pochettino to shop for new players this winter. But the Argentine coach is reluctant to obey him. He still believes in the current squad.
“No, I don’t believe what they say. I still believe in all the players that exist today. However I respect all opinions,” said the coach as reported by the Daily Mail, Thursday (10/17/2019).
“I know people will say we need a change. But my conclusion is that the players are still able to bring this team up. They have the quality and have proven it so far,” he added.
Furthermore, the former Espanyol coach stressed his team’s bad period on the field did not affect the mentality of players. According to him, Christian Eriksen et al did not panic and stay relaxed.
“The players are still very happy. We remain relaxed and believe in our strengths. You cannot be sad and fall into this situation. The competition has just begun,” concluded Pochettino.
