Takes Long Time for Manchester United to be in the Third Position of Premier League Standings
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Manchester United did not succeed to get full points when entertaining West Ham United at Old Trafford in the 2019-2020 Premier League continued on Thursday (7/23). But a 1-1 draw was enough to bring the Red Devils to penetrate the top three.
Manchester United are now packing 63 points or the same as collected by Chelsea. But Paul Pogba and his friends are more worthy to be ranked third because of superior goal difference.
Ironically, this is the first time Manchester United was ranked third in the 2019-2020 season. The only moment they were in a better position than this happened in the inaugural week when sitting second after a 4-0 win over Chelsea.
But since then, Manchester United was knocked out of the top three. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team even ranked 14th in the ninth week after a draw with Liverpool.
With status as one of the big clubs, what is experienced by Manchester United is certainly quite sad. They seemed very difficult to just be in the top three.
Manchester United’s performance began to stabilize when Bruno Fernandes arrived at the end of the winter transfer window. Since the Portuguese midfielder arrived, they no longer feel defeat in the Premier League to date.
“When we started after the lockdown, we really had to go to win the top four by improving the goal difference and winning points. The effort was fantastic, and the results were fantastic,” Solskjaer told Sky Sports.
When referring to the performance in the first half, it is rather impossible that Manchester United can now sit in third place. They were eleven points behind Leicester City in the top three.
But Manchester United’s struggle to seal a Champions League ticket is not over. They will play the duel deciding counter Leicester in the last week, Sunday (7/26) future.
