The cool skill of Barcelona’s new Midfielder who idolizes Xavi

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Brazilian midfielder, Matheus Fernandes at the end of January was officially recruited by Barcelona from Palmeiras. Currently the player who claims to idolize Xavi and Sergio Busquets is loaned by Barca to Real Valladolid.

According to Fernandes, as quoted by Football Espana, Friday (4/24/2020) Xavi and Busquets have indeed become his inspiration for later playing an important role for Barcelona.

“I like the way Busquets play and I always pay attention to it, Xavi too. I will try to do my best to get closer to the level of these great players, “Fernandes stated.

“At the moment I am focused on continuing to gain experience and still have much to learn so that later I can contribute greatly to Barcelona,” he added.

Barca in January 2020 poured funds amounting to 7 million euros plus a bonus of 3 million euros to get Fernandes’ services from Palmeiras.

When playing at Palmeiras in 2019, contributions from Fernandes were not very visible. He actually became an important player when defending Botafogo.

This brand-new Barcelona midfielder has excellent dribbling, tackle and stamina. Technically and with the ability to let go of passing, Fernandes is quite impressive.

Playing in a position similar to Xavi and Busquets, Fernandes is also quite comfortable when playing in the wing sector. His crossing passes against Botafogo was able to make the opponent’s defense sector in disarray.

At the national team level, Fernandes has strengthened the Brazilian junior team by appearing twice with the U-17 and U-20 teams.
