The Key to Solskjaer’s Success in Maintaining the Condition of His Players During the Corona Virus Pandemic

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Manchester United manager,Ole Gunnar Solskjaer felt relieved that his players have remained in top shape after the Corona virus pandemic, even though at that time the Red Devils had to take a break for up to 100 days.

To Sky Sports, Solskjaer explained what he did so that his troops were immediately ready for combat when the competition resumed. The Norwegian coach said player discipline was one of the keys.

The United players after lockdown actually appeared to be fitter, stronger and faster. This is inseparable from the request of Solskjaer as expressed to his players.

He had clearly stated to his players what he wanted from them. For weeks he always watched them.

What did Solskjaer say to his players? “You are in the biggest club in the world, you have responsibilities, you have the privilege of staying in shape and if you are not disciplined in two or three months in caring for yourself, that’s when I open the door and say ‘look for yourself somewhere else”.

The results can indeed be seen on the field. The players still appeared fit despite undergoing a solid match agenda. After the lockdown the players believed that Solskjaer was even more focused.

“It’s nice to watch them enter the match by trusting each other, believing what to do in the match and the message we give them,” Solskjaer said.

“Their focus after the lockdown was great,” he added.

Manchester United are on the verge of extending their unbeaten run to 17 matches if they win or draw against Aston Villa on Friday (10/7) AM.

The journey of the Red Devils is now said to have been on the right track, but Solskjaer totally rejects that assumption and states that it is still too far from being successful.

“You can’t talk about success when, first, it’s only 16 matches unbeaten. We went through a tough time last January, we’re fifth in the league, so you can’t talk about success,” Solskjaer said.

“Yes we are in the FA Cup semifinals and hopefully we will advance to the quarter-finals of the Europa League, so this is indeed an exciting time, but it is not at all close to success.”
