The Reason why Roman Abramovich Wants to Spend a Lot of Money for Kai Havertz
By db-admin
DBasia.news – After taking a fairly long time, Kai Havertz is finally moving closer to Chelsea. However, The Blues’ pursuit of the Bayer Leverkusen player could have failed.
Chelsea have repeatedly explored Bayer Leverkusen. They always come home with the same answer. The Bayer Leverkusen camp do not want to change the official price for Havertz, which reportedly reaches 100 million euros.
Bayer Leverkusen had confirmed to Chelsea to pay according to the price tag set. If not, Kai Havertz will still be a Bayer Leverkusen employee.
However, recently it was reported that Chelsea was finally willing to fulfill Leverkusen’s request. Chelsea is said to be willing to pay 80 million euros in cash and an additional clause worth 20 million euros.
According to the report from Sky Sports, Kaveh Solhekols, Chelsea had previously been heavily bidding below the value requested by Leverkusen because the London club did not prepare that much.
According to Solhekols, Chelsea initially felt the price asked by Bayer Leverkusen was unreasonable, especially during the crisis amid the coronavirus pandemic. But in the end Chelsea was willing to fulfill Leverkusen’s request with an agreed payment scheme.
“Leverkusen are consistent about the price of Havertz,” said Solhekols. “If you want to get a player now, you have to pay what we ask.”
One thing is for sure, if in the end Kai Havertz officially becomes a Chelsea player, it will be because of the role of the big boss, Roman Abramovich. Yes, Chelsea decided to continue to pursue Havertz and agreed to fulfill Leverkusen’s request after Abramovich gave the green light.
So what is the reason why Roman Abramovich finally changed his mind and became very concerned about the Havertz transfer process? In recent times, word got out that Abramovich had lost interest in Chelsea. In fact, several times there were reports that the tycoon wanted to let The Blues go.
“I think Roman Abramovich sees this as an opportunity in the market. According to him now is the right time to bring in world-class players at below normal prices because of the pandemic,” said Solhekols.
“And, for outsiders, it appears that Roman Abramovich’s commitment to Chelsea is still 100 percent.”
