Thiato Motta Uses the 2-7-2 Tactics to Genoa

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Genoa newest coach, Thiago Motta, has used this tactic in the PSG U-19 team while training there one season. Motta is already thinking about the evolution of the unique 2-7-2 tactics that will be implemented soon at Rossblu.

Motta, a former Barcelona, Genoa and Inter Milan player, was appointed to coach Genoa, who are currently 19th in the standings with five points. The Brazilian coach had replaced Italian Aurelio Andreazzoli.

When asked if there was a possibility for Genoa to play with tactics 2-7-2, Motta answered the question diplomatically. He wants to see Genoa’s abilities before – potentially – playing the 2-7-2, formation without a goalkeeper.

“Anyone can see it (tactics 2-7-2) whenever they want. I just try to see the important side away from the numbers,” said Motta, as reported by Football-Italy.

“I dream of so many things, but this time is not the time to dream. We have to work every day,” he continued.

Motta, who played for Genoa in the 2008-09 season, is glad to be back at Genoa and hopes to revive the team’s performance as quickly as possible away from the relegation zone.

“This feeling is great, for me returning here is a great opportunity and an honor,” added Motta.

“The situation is challenging, but through hard work I am sure we can get out of the negative period. For this jersey, we have to give out everything every day. In 2008 Genoa changed my situation. Now I really want to train the squad and change the luck.” “We have an interesting squad, both in terms of quality and quantity. The next match against Brescia will be challenging for both teams. They have good individuals, but we will be playing at home and we want to play our own game,” explained Motta.
