DBasia.news – Edinson Cavani and Thomas Meunier will certainly not stay at Paris Saint-Germain and will continue the rest of the Champions League campaign this season and will leave the club after their contracts expire at the end of this June.

Cavani and Meunier are two otherplayers whose contracts at PSG were completed on June 30, apart from Thiago Silva and Layvin Kurzawa.

While Silva and Kurzawa are willing to accept offers to stay beyond the duration of their contract and help PSG complete the 2019/20 Champions League, Goal can confirm that the French Ligue 1 champions will lose their two key players.

PSG is one of four teams that have already secured a place in the quarter-finals, before the competition was suspended in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, along with Atalanta, Atletico Madrid and RB Leipzig.

This week, UEFA has decided that the Champions League will be completed with a special format in August in Portugal, using Benfica’s Estadio da Luz. The quarter-final phase will be played in one leg format, while all the remaining 16 rounds will be played in two legs.

As the only contestant who is no longer undergoing the domestic league after Ligue 1 this season was stopped early, PSG no longer has competitive preparation and the loss of Cavani and Meunier which has an impact on the depth of the squad could be a problem in itself.

Cavani has been at the Parc des Princes since moving from Napoli in the summer of 2013, the Uruguayan bomber successfully packed 200 goals in 301 appearances in all competitions, successfully winning six Ligue 1 titles during his seven seasons playing there.

While Meunier, a Belgian right-back, joined from Club Brugge in 2016 and has made more than 100 appearances for PSG. He is one of the multipositioned players that PSG has as he is just as good when playing as a defender or even a midfielder.

PSG also knows that the captain of their U-16 team, Gloire Bunga will not continue his career in Paris.

The young player will sign a three-year contract with the Bundesliga club, Freiburg after failing to reach an agreement with PSG. The same decision was taken by French U-18 player, Tanguy Kouassi who preferred Bayern Munich’s offer.
